“Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties” (Psalm 141:3,4).

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (I John 4:8).

True love, God’s kind of love, is defined in the great love chapter, I Corinthians 13. Thus, it is instructive to see how He exhibited the love He expects us to show.

“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition” (I Timothy 6:9).

“Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul” (Psalm 66:16).

“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you” (I Peter 5:10).
