“Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause; and deceive not with thy lips. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work” (Proverbs 24:28,29).

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is” (Psalm 63:1).

Psalm 57:7 (and likewise 108:1,2) contains David’s dawn testimony of praise. “O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. . . . I myself will awake early.”

“He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not” (Proverbs 26:24,25).

“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death better than the day of one’s birth" (Ecclesiastes 7:1).
