If we take God at His Word, we must say that a straightforward reading of Genesis makes it obvious that there was no death or bloodshed of animals before Adam was created. In fact, there was no death or bloodshed of man or animals until after Adam sinned.

Let us examine one aspect, which is spoken of in Psalm 104:24. "O Lord, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom thou hast made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." We encounter these works, so wisely conceived, at every turn.

One of man's most vexing problems today is the conflict between energy and ecology, between conservation of jobs and conservation of nature. The need for expanded energy sources and more goods and services for mankind seems completely at cross-purposes with the maintenance of an unpolluted environment.
