The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) announced today a strategic handover of its School of Biblical Apologetics (SOBA) educational content to Louisiana Baptist University (LBU), located in Shreveport, Louisiana. As ICR transitions away from offering the SOBA program directly, this partnership ensures that rich, biblically grounded apologetics resources remain accessible to students, pastors, and Christian leaders through LBU for years to come.
ICR will retain all historical student academic records and transcripts to support past graduates and enrollees.
“We are thrilled to begin this partnership with ICR and honored to help preserve and carry forward its legacy of biblically faithful creation apologetics,” said Dr. Walter Swaim, academic dean of LBU. “Through this partnership, we look forward to equipping the next generation of pastors, ministry leaders, and Christian thinkers around the world to defend the truth of Scripture with clarity, conviction, and confidence and fulfill the Great Commission.”
“Our primary goal has always been the advancement of biblical truth and a defendable faith,” said Dr. Randy Guliuzza, president of ICR. “When Dr. Walter Swaim and Louisiana Baptist University offered to assist, we saw a wonderful opportunity to extend the impact of these resources while maintaining our focus on upcoming research and other educational initiatives.”
Going forward, LBU will manage and incorporate the SOBA curriculum into its offered degree programs. ICR looks forward to sharing further updates regarding the future relaunch of SOBA’s updated Creationist Worldview course.
