Time Speaker Title Description
2:00 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Dinosaurs and the Christian Many Christians are uncomfortable with the subject of dinosaurs, as they are unsure of how these creatures “fit” into the Bible. But is the Bible really silent on the subject of dinosaurs? Dr. Hebert shows how the Bible easily makes sense of these remarkable animals, if we take Genesis at face value. In the process, he also demonstrates how to think biblically about any given topic and how to develop a biblical worldview.
2:50 p.m. Break
3:00 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Our Young Universe A talk, liberally illustrated with beautiful photographs and videos of outer space objects, which presents evidence our universe is young. This PPT explains why many astronomical objects, especially those in our own solar system, show strong indications of youth; how a respected creation physicist used young-universe assumptions to make multiple successful predictions regarding the magnetic fields of various heavenly bodies; and how another creation physicist has recently made a huge stride in answering the ‘distant starlight’ question by rigorously proving that light from the most distant galaxies, galaxies that we are just now observing with the James Webb Space Telescope, can reach Earth in just 6,000 years!
4:00 p.m. Break for Dinner Dinner is not provided, and is on your own.
6:30 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Our Young Earth A hard-hitting presentation that gives four reasons that every Christian ought to affirm a recent Creation and a global Flood. Great for Christians who may be skeptical of the recent Creation position.
7:20 p.m. Break
7:30 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert What You Haven’t Been Told About Radiometric Dating This presentation explains why no Christian should be intimidated by claims that radioisotope dating methods prove an old Earth. Discusses the conventional assumptions behind the dating methods, why those assumptions are questionable, and how the data, rightly interpreted, are actually consistent with the Bible’s short ~6,000 year history.
8:30 p.m. Conclusion

9:00 a.m. Dr. Jake Hebert The Mystery of the Ice Age Was there an Ice Age or ages? If so, how many, and how do they "fit" into biblical history? Learn how mainstream scientists have difficulty explaining an ice age. Learn why a well-known argument for the dominant secular ice age theory is invalid, even by mainstream reckoning, and how the Bible gives us a convincing explanation for an Ice Age that can explain mysteries that event today perplex mainstream scientists.
9:50 a.m. Break
10:00 a.m. Dr. Jake Hebert The Dating Game Creationists are often asked, If the world is just 6,000 years old, then why do “millions of years” age assignments agree so well with one another? Much of the apparent agreement is obtained via circular reasoning and a slow shifting of age assignment ‘goalposts’ that often becomes noticeable only in hindsight. Using actual examples from the scientific literature, Dr. Hebert shows how fossil names and age assignments are ‘adjusted’ to prevent them from contradicting the evolutionary ‘story’. As described by creation researcher Marvin Lubenow many years ago, “In the dating game, evolution always wins.”
11:00 a.m. Conclusion for the Morning
6:30 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Big Problems with the Big Bang This talk is excellent for those wanting a deeper understanding of the reasoning behind the bizarre claims of Big Bang astronomers (the claim that most of the matter in the universe is an “exotic”, never before observed forms of matter; the claim that other universes exist; “inflation” theory; etc.). A great equipping resource for those who want to know why Big Bang proponents make the claims that they do. Despite the optimistic claims of Big Bang proponents, the Big Bang model is in serious trouble. Includes beautiful photographs of astronomical objects and presents evidence that we live in a young universe, contrary to the Big Bang model, but consistent with the Bible’s short (~6,000 year) timescale. Most appropriate for high school and above.

7:30 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Answering Hugh Ross: Why Deep Ice Cores Don’t Prove an Old Earth On October 12, 2024, Southern Evangelical Seminary hosted a debate on whether biblical inerrancy required belief in young Earth. Dr. Terry Mortensen of Answers in Genesis debated Dr. Hugh Ross of Reasons to Believe. Dr. Mortensen did a wonderful job presenting the biblical case for recent creation, but unfortunately Dr. Ross, who had the last word, used his closing argument to claim that the deep ice cores, particularly the EPICA Dome C core in East Antarctica, proved an old Earth. Yet Dr. Ross demonstrated a poor grasp of the dating of ice cores by making demonstrably incorrect statements. Dr. Hebert explains why, contrary to popular perception, these deep ice cores really can be just a few thousand years old. Moreover, clues within the Antarctic ice cores provide strong evidence that uniformitarian age assignments are grossly inflated.

5:00 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Living to 900: Historical and Scientific Corroboration for One of the Bible’s Most Amazing Claims The Bible affirms that people in the pre-Flood world routinely attained ages of nearly a millennium. Other ancient historians corroborate the Bible’s claim in this regard. Moreover, unless this longevity was supernatural, it seems that animals also would have experienced much greater longevity, as it is difficult to conceive of a natural cause for longer lifespans (fewer harmful mutations, abundant food, different atmospheric composition, etc.) that would not also have affected the animal kingdom. Longevity studies of living animals have shown that giantism and delayed maturation are often associated with greater longevity, and there is abundant evidence for both in the fossils. Growth bands in fossil oysters, sharks, dinosaurs, crocodilians, birds, and small Jurassic mammals, already published in the mainstream scientific literature, show direct and/or indirect evidence they had much longer lifespans than do modern animals.
5:50 p.m. Break
6:00 p.m. Dr. Jake Hebert Science…or Science Fiction? Why the Lord Jesus - and Not the Laws of Physics - Created the Universe A number of prominent anti-theistic physicists such as Stephen Hawking, Lawrence Krauss, and Michio Kaku, claim that the laws of physics could have created the universe, without the need for a Creator. This talk explains, in an easy-to-understand (no math!) and surprisingly entertaining way, why such claims are sheer nonsense! The Lord Jesus, not the laws of physics, deserves credit for our amazing universe!
