This regulation is in sharp contrast to the ultimate temple regime, for in the New Jerusalem there is “no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it” (Revelation 21:22). The gates of the city “shall not be shut at all” (Revelation 21:25).
