Serving in Truth
"Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24)
Our Lord's Thanksgiving
"The LORD Jesus in the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you. . . . after the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood" (I Corinthians 11:24,25).
Mercy and Truth
"For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds" (Psalms 57:10; 108:4).
The words "mercy" and "truth" are connected numerous times in the Old Testament, especially in the Psalms. These references are sources of spiritual refreshment to the believer.
A Gift for the Lord
"And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the Lord, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation" (Numbers 18:6).
Speak to the Rock
"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water" (Numbers 20:7-8).
