New Defender's Study Bible Notes
6:9 burnt-offering. See notes on Leviticus 1:3,10.
6:13 ever be burning. The “continual burnt offering” (Exodus 29:42) symbolized the continual relationship of Israel to their God, never to be allowed to die out, even when the nation was journeying. Wood was kept on the altar (Leviticus 6:12) ready to consume the sacrificial animals as they were presented for burnt offerings.
6:14 meat-offering. See notes on the meal offering Leviticus 2:1,13.
6:25 sin-offering. See note on Leviticus 4:34.
6:28 scoured, and rinsed. The instruction to break earthen pots (probably because of cracks that would develop) and to cleanse thoroughly the metal pots after cooking meat in them implies a knowledge of the danger of bacterial contamination well in advance of that possessed by the Egyptians.
