A Strange Teacher
“How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?” (Job 25:6).
The Bible uses many different kinds of object lessons to teach spiritual truth, but none stranger than the worm.
Promises And Answers
“There is nothing too hard for thee” (Jeremiah 32:17).
In order to bring salvation to His people, God, on several occasions, simply by-passed human strength and brought deliverance on His own. He would promise and then bring about the victory.
Hearing And Seeing
“LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God” (II Kings 19:16).
In II Kings 19 and 20, King Hezekiah needed two immediate answers to prayer. One involved an external problem and the other an internal problem. Both were extremely serious.
Bless The Lord Your God
“Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever” (Nehemiah 9:5).
Nehemiah had the privilege of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem that Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had utterly destroyed. Opposition came from without and within but, through Nehemiah’s leadership, the arduous task was completed in just fifty-two days (6:15).
Crowding Out The Christ
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7).
