"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as
some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish, but that all should come
to repentance" (II Peter 3:9).

 "For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward" (II Corinthians 1:12).

 "For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ" (II Corinthians 1:5).

We are in constant need of God's help. We find ourselves weak, failing, unable to meet our needs. Such are the times we gladly appropriate the promise of heavenly help.

 "He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoreth Him hath mercy on the poor" (Proverbs 14:31).

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep" (John 10:11).
