Seawater contains a variety of salts, and when seawater evaporates, these solids are left behind. The most abundant salt in seawater is sodium chloride (NaCl) which will be referred to in this article simply as salt (technically it is called halite).

Recently I attended a convention and struck up a break-time conversation with a Christian sociology professor at a State University. Eventually the conversation turned to creation, which he assumed from his professional background was foolishness, but about which he knew nothing.

Who Could Argue with Teaching Good Science?
Earlier this year House Bill 481 was submitted to the Ohio State Assembly. The bill addresses the issue of teaching "origins science" in the Ohio public schools. The carefully crafted bill scrupulously follows the intent of recent Supreme Court decisions and attempts to implement the 2002 U.S. Education Bill, specifically its Santorum Amendment.
