Institute for Creation Research Awarded Highest Rating from Charity Navigator
DALLAS, February 11, 2021–The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) recently earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator—America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This rating is awarded for strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is the fifth consecutive time that ICR has earned this top distinction.

“ICR’s exceptional 4-star rating sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public,” says Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “Only 17% of the charities we evaluate have received at least five consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Institute for Creation Research outperforms most other charities in America. Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support ICR.”

ICR President Dr. Randy Guliuzza was thrilled to hear about this award. After congratulating the staff for their individual and collective contributions toward this honor, Dr. Guliuzza gave thanks that “this brings honor to the Lord Jesus.”

Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics focused on governance and ethical practices—as well as measures of openness—to its ratings methodology. These Accountability and Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders. On June 1, 2016, they upgraded their methodology for rating each charity’s financial health with enhancements that further substantiate the financial health of 4-star charities.

ICR’s rating and other information about charitable giving are available free of charge here. More detailed information about ICR’s rating is available to Charity Navigator site visitors who become registered users, another free service.

About ICR
The Institute for Creation Research has spent over 50 years researching scientific evidence that refutes evolutionary philosophy and confirms the Bible’s account of a recent and special creation. Building on the foundation laid by Dr. Henry Morris and Dr. John Whitcomb’s groundbreaking book The Genesis Flood, this work has helped to open the eyes of thousands to the truth of creation and the veracity of Scripture. We receive testimonies of ICR’s impact from all over the world, and it could not have happened without God’s provision through the many creation advocates and friends of our ministry.
