"Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. . . . Is any sick among you?

"And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren." (Genesis 24:27)

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)." (Ephesians 2:4-5)

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." (3 John 4)

The phrase "walk before me" is used six times in the Old Testament. Here in our text is the foundational setting. God’s standard for us does not waver. "Be ye holy; for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16).

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (2 Timothy 2:3-4)
