Son of man
Ezekiel 2:1
2:1 Son of man. This striking name, indicating that God thought of Ezekiel as a prophet not only to the Jews but to all mankind, was used first by David in a Messianic psalm (Psalm 8:4; Hebrews 2:6-9), then later by Daniel (Daniel 7:13), also in a prophecy of the Messiah. Jesus Christ applied the title to Himself (e.g., Matthew 8:20) some eighty times, using it even more than “Son of God.” God addressed Ezekiel as “Son of man” more than ninety times; thus Ezekiel can be considered as an important type of Christ.
