Risen With Christ
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God” (Colossians 3:1).
I Will Ever Be True
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
The concluding verse of our song, “The Old Rugged Cross,” contains a commitment to follow Christ in this life and looks forward to life with Him in eternity.
Stained With Blood So Divine
“But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was dead already, . . . one of the soldiers with a spear pierced His side, and forthwith there came out blood and water” (John 19:33,34)
Do Peppered Moths Prove Evolution?
Darwin's book Origin of Species, published in 1859, proposed the concept of evolution by purely naturalistic causes, especially natural selection. His idea was that the small variations observed within a population of plants or animals would lead to large changes, given a fortuitous environmental change which favored the variant's opportunity for survival and reproduction.
Dark Calvary
“Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour” (Matthew 27:45).
The second verse of the grand old hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross,” contains much truth, rich and deep.
Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, Has a wondrous attraction for me; For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above To bear it to dark Calvary.
