“. . . God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (I Timothy 2:3,4).

The verses preceding our text encourage believers to be in prayer “for all men” (v.1), including “all that are in authority” (v.2), that our own lives might be “quiet and peaceable,” as well as for their salvation.

There is much misinformation about these two words, and yet, understanding them is perhaps the crucial prerequisite for understanding the creation/evolution issue.

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:1 7).

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).
