“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is” (I John 3:2).

Although the book of I John is well known for its use of the word “love,” various words, such as “know,” “perceive,” and “behold,” occur almost as often.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God” (Ephesians 5:21).

The Apostle Paul met with the brethren in Jerusalem who had sent him out and "declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord" (Acts 21:19,20).
