The Urge to Submerge

"I must go down to the sea again--to the lonely sea and the sky." This famous poem by John Masefield, former Poet Laureate of England, was one I had to memorize in school many, many years ago. It is a beautiful and moving poem, but I could never identify with it myself.

Sin Not

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26).

Angels Round About

“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them” (Psalm 34:7).

The Wandering Jew

“And the LORD shall scatter thee among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone” (Deuteronomy 28:64).

The Divine Designer

“Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?” (Isaiah 40:12).
