Christians who have lived through eight decades or more (as of this writing, I am going on 82) have seen society's standards of morality deteriorate in ways that would have seemed incredible, say, fifty years ago.

“Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).

“And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another” (Genesis 43:33).
