“For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God” (I Thessalonians 1:9).

“I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation” (Psalm 119:99).

“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night” (Psalm 90:4).

“My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word” (Psalm 119:28).

Psalm 119 is uniquely the “psalm of the Word,” with practically every one of its 176 verses eulogizing the Holy Scriptures. The psalmist reminds us over and over again of the resources in God’s Word, able to meet every need.

“Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come” (Psalm 71:18).
