In 1993, the movie Jurassic Park took the world by storm with its compelling characters, excellent cinematography, industry-altering special effects, and… unfortunately, faulty science. While dinosaurs had been popular, this modern classic of a film rocketed these reptilian beasts to a new level of stardom. And while the film’s sequels have been hit or miss, it’s difficult to overstate the effect the franchise has had on public perception of dinosaurs.
The question remains–is building a Jurassic Park possible? Common sense tells us no. Even more common sense says, “There’s been a whole movie franchise dedicated to telling us that it would be a bad idea to even attempt something like this.”
But what does the science say? How possible is it really?
