When someone sees a newborn baby for the first time, they often say something like “I can tell she’s a Smith because she has her grandmother’s eyes” or “He looks just like his dad.” The resemblance is expected—kids will most likely look like their parents and other family members. God made us that way.

For more than 20 years, the sounds of music have echoed off the walls of my home. All four of my children began playing piano at young ages, and they began to sing as soon as they could make sounds. Ma-ma-ma  had its own sweet melody.
