The central core of ICR's mission is scientific research, which formed the basis of our founding in 1970 by Dr. Henry M. Morris. A respected scientist in his own field of hydrology, which led to the publication of The Genesis Flood in 1961, Dr. Morris saw clearly that good science—the proper handling and interpretation of scientific evidence—would demonstrate the veracity of the biblical accounts of Creation and the Flood.
For nearly forty years, ICR scientists have conducted innovative research in the areas of flood geology, plate tectonics, catastrophic flood sedimentation, radiometric dating, cosmology, DNA analysis, and others. With oversight by the ICR Research Council, scientists from around the world participate in laboratory, field, and literature research in keeping with ICR's mission to study, teach, and communicate the wonders of God's creation.
ICR maintains laboratory facilities on its campus in Dallas, Texas.
ICR research projects are at the forefront of science, discovering and gathering evidences in support of biblical truth. Learn more about ICR's current research endeavors. These projects include:
Previously completed scientific studies include research on Mount St. Helens, Grand Canyon, and Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth (RATE I).
Today, thousands of creation scientists repudiate any form of molecules-to-man evolution in their analysis and use of scientific data. They can now be found in literally every discipline of science, and their numbers are rising rapidly. Evolutionists are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the fiction that evolution is "science" and creation science is "religion." Such statements today merely reveal the speaker's own liberal social philosophies—not his or her awareness of scientific facts.
