Non-Identical "Identical Twin" Stars Defy Evolution

A 15-year investigation by Vanderbilt University scientists of a pair of stars near the Orion nebula has led to unexpected results.1 Evolutionists assume that “because the two stars condensed from the same cloud of gas and dust they should have the same composition. With identical mass and composition, they should be identical in every way.” What the investigation revealed, however, was that “the twins exhibited significant differences in brightness, surface temperature and possibly size.”2

Physorg.com reported that “one of the stars is two times brighter than the other and…has a surface temperature about 300 degrees higher than its twin.” Project co-leader Keivan Sassun of Vanderbilt said, "The easiest way to explain these differences is if one star was formed about 500,000 years before its twin."2 However, this fails to explain the difference in composition between the stars—the same problem that the nebular hypothesis theory has with explaining the origin of our solar system.3 A more direct way to explain the observations is to concede that these stars were formed by the power of the creative spoken word of God, who said, “Let there be lights.…”4

“Because astrophysicists have assumed that binary stars form simultaneously, the discovery [is] forcing theorists back to the drawing board to determine if their models can produce binaries with stars that form at different times.”2 Note that these scientists plan to make new “models” after the discovered facts contradict old theories that have been masquerading as truth in our textbooks for decades. Ideally, scientific models are formed first, then tested—not the other way around. Here is another example of evolution theory failing to predict observed phenomena. Instead of questioning the paradigm on which their flawed models are based, the evidence is going to be retrofit into a new qualification; crammed into a made-to-fit, just-so story that keeps the philosophy of methodological naturalism from being damaged by the evidence.

Today, God has revealed yet another way that “the heavens declare the glory of God.”5 His glory is manifested through the differences between the stars’ glories,6 and these differences, by defying naturalistic origin, affirm their supernatural origins.
