The first Neanderthal bones were unearthed in 1856 and were soon touted as supporting Darwin's 1859 theory of human descent from the animals. And ever since, Neanderthals have been presented as beetle-browed, bowlegged, brutes-half ape and half man. School students and museum visitors worldwide still believe that this "caveman" was a sub-human ancestor.

For decades creation scientists have shown that the answer to this question is a clear NO! Its results have been shown to be inconsistent, discordant, unreliable, and frequently bizarre in any model. Creationists have, in particular, pointed out the weak assumptions on which the method is based, and the contradictory nature of its results.

The recent blockbuster movie, The Lost World (the sequel to Jurassic Park), has captivated the attention of the country. The science fiction thriller weaves a story of extinct dinosaurs cloned back to life on a deserted island. Efforts to contain them go awry and mayhem ensues.

The Big Bang model for the origin of the universe certainly does not come from Scripture. No one could, and historically no one ever did, propose such an event as the starting point for creation simply by reading Genesis and the related passages. The most that could be said is that the Biblical account can be molded to conform to Big Bang ideas.
