“The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord” (Matthew 10:24).

Note the two-fold relation of the believer to the Lord Jesus Christ expressed in this verse. We are His disciples and servants; He is our Master and Lord. Each of the two relationships is vital.

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).

“(Wisdom) is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her” (Proverbs 3:18).

“I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)” (I Corinthians 16:15).

“What shall I render unto the LORD for all His benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD” (Psalm 116:12,13).
