Dr. Jeff Tomkins, Dr. Tim Clarey, and Dr. Brian Thomas will speak at Origins: Re-examining the Evidence at the ICR Discovery Center for Science & Earth History in Dallas, Texas. Media, movies, and nature programs overwhelmingly emphasize the idea that humans evolved from primate ancestors. But what does the scientific evidence really show? There are no “almost human” ancestors, only humans and apes—two separate kinds—just as God created them around 6,000 years ago.

Schedule

Time Speaker Title Description
10:00 a.m. ICR Discovery Center opens
10:30 a.m. Dr. Brian Thomas "Adam, not Apes" Polls show that illustrations of ape-like human ancestors are the most convincing arguments for evolution. Dr. Thomas reveals how tricks of the evolutionary trade masquerade as science and how ape and human fossils fit the Bible’s timeline.
11:15 a.m. Hands-on demonstration with Dr. Thomas
11:45 a.m. Break for lunch
1:15 p.m. Dr. Jeff Tomkins "Monkey Business in the Chimp Genome" Evolutionary scientists say human DNA is 98 to 99% similar to chimpanzee DNA, and they claim this is evidence for human evolution. Dr. Tomkins debunks this popular myth and reveals evolution-refuting evidence from his years of intensive study directly comparing human and chimpanzee DNA. The evidence clearly shows that humans are not descended from apes. Instead, we are fearfully and wonderfully created in God’s image just as Genesis proclaims.
2:00 p.m. Break
2:10 p.m. Dr. Tim Clarey "Hoaxes of Human Evolution: a Geologist's Perspective Paleoanthropology has often benefited from falsification. Some deceptions, like Piltdown Man, are purposeful hoaxes. Others come from poor interpretations or wishful thinking. The Laetoli footprints do not demonstrate that the Australopithecine “Lucy”  walked upright. Instead, these footprints were likely made by Ice Age humans. The Homo naledi bones found in the Dinaledi Chamber, South Africa were likely deposited by flooding and not by deliberate disposal of the dead.
2:55 p.m. Dr. Brian Thomas Recap
3:05 p.m. Break
