11:3 this covenant. The covenant mentioned here is evidently the covenant of Deuteronomy 28–30 (see Deuteronomy 29:1). Because they had not obeyed the terms of the covenant for remaining in the promised land, they were about to be cast out of the land (note Jeremiah 11:8). Note the prophecy of Deuteronomy 29:24-28.
