7:6 to hear a noise of chariots. God had enabled Elisha’s servant to see the great host of the Lord, and the horses and chariots of fire (II Kings 6:17). The Syrians only got to hear them, and that was enough to cause them to flee in panic, leaving all their supplies and equipment.
