Mark’s account adds the important additional information that the Genesis record from which he is quoting referred to “the beginning of the creation.” That is, God made Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:26-27), right at the very beginning—not some 4.5 billion years after the beginning, as modern evolutionists and theistic uniformitarians would have us believe. See also Mark 13:19. There is no room whatever in Scripture for the geological ages, and Christians who compromise on this issue for the sake of academic acceptance are undermining God’s Word.
