Holy Brethren
“I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren” (I Thessalonians 5:27).
There is probably no word more misused—even abused—than the word “holy.” In our day and age, it usually conjures up an image of sanctimoniousness, or even hypocrisy, and thus often becomes a term of snide ridicule.
Moral Or Sanctimonious
“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” (Luke 6:41).
The Face Of Jesus Christ
“And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads” (Revelation 22:4).
God Is Faithful
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (I Corinthians 1:9).
When we place our trust in Jesus Christ as omnipotent Creator and gracious Redeemer, He then faithfully undertakes to provide everything we need to live an effective fruitful, victorious Christian life.
Be Diligent
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge” (II Peter 1:5).
