Nahash the Ammonite

1 Samuel 11:1

11:1 Nahash the Ammonite. The name “Nahash” means “serpent.” The city of Jabesh-Gilead, which he coveted, was in the tribe of Gad, east of the Jordan and near the Ammonite border.
