New Defender's Study Bible Notes

2:3 Aaron’s and his sons’. The word for “meat” is not present in the Hebrew original This offering was to be in the form of “food” (the original meaning of the English word “meat”) for the sustenance of the priests, in addition to representing an act of worship and thanksgiving to God, whom the priests were representing. The description of the offering in context suggests it could be called a “meal offering,” or possibly “food offering.”
