For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
New Defender's Study Bible Notes
62:4 Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah. Hephzi-bah means “My Delight” and Beulah means “My Wife.”
62:7 give him no rest. All believers are exhorted to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6), the “city of peace” which has known almost no peace throughout its history.
62:11 thy salvation cometh. One could easily read the name “Jesus” for “salvation” in this verse, for that is the meaning of His name. This same promise had been given in Isaiah 40:10, and will be fulfilled when Jesus comes again. See also Zechariah 9:9; Revelation 22:12.
