How to Search

Simple Search

In the blue box at the top of the page (just to the right of "Search Tools"), enter one or more search terms.
Click the arrow to the right of the blue box.
The results will be grouped by the type of page (e.g. Articles, Bible, etc.).

Advanced Search Tools

At the top of the page, click on "Search Tools"
Enter one or more search terms into one of the search fields.
You may change "Type of Page" from "All" to a specific type (e.g. Articles, Bible, etc.).
Click the "Search" box.
If "Type of Page" is set to "All", the results will be grouped by the type of page (e.g. Articles, Bible, etc.).
Clicking on "Search Again" will display the Search Tools with the same fields it filled on your previous search.

Find Results

All searching is case-insensitive. For example, the term "Lord" will match "lord" or "LORD"

When using the Advanced Search Tools, there are four fields available to enter your search terms. This specifies "how" you want to search.
- With all of these words (AND) - This search field will find pages that have all of the search terms. The resulting pages can have the terms in any order and have other words between the terms. For example: the terms "Creator God" would match "God is our creator".
- With this exact phrase (EXACT) - This search field will find pages that have all the search terms, in order and without anything between the terms on the pages that are found. For example: "Creator God" would only match "Creator God".
- With any of these words (OR) - This search field will find pages that have all of the search terms. "Simple search" uses this field by default. For example: the terms "Creator God" would match "Creator", "God" or "God is our creator".
- Without these words (NOT) - This search field will exclude pages that have any of the search terms.
You can specify "where" on each page to search.
- Anywhere on page - This will search both the page's title and the body of the page.
- In the title only - This will search the page's title of the page.
- In the body only - This will search the body of the page.
You can specify "what" you want to search. "Type of Page" is set to "All Types" by default and searches all pages of the ICR website. This can be set to any of the following types to limit the search to that specific type.

Articles

ICR's archive of nearly forty years of articles can be searched by entering search terms (per above) and selecting "Type of Pages" to "Articles"; or you can restrict your search using the following fields:

Date Range - Enter MM/DD/YYYY (e.g. "1/31/2008") or you can click on the calendar icon to select a date. This can be left blank for an unrestricted beginning or ending date.
Author - This will restrict the search to only those articles by that specific author.
Topic - This will restrict the search to only those articles found directly under this specific topic. Only articles assigned to the specified topic are searched. Articles assigned to sub-topics organized under the specified topic are not searched.
Categories - This will restrict the search to the specified article category. For example: Impact, Days of Praise, etc.

Bible

Verses found in search results are linked to the Hebrew and Greek definitions from Strong's Concordance.

Section - By default, the whole bible is searched. You can specify Old or New Testament, a group of books (e.g. The Gospels) or a specific book of the bible.

Defender's Bible Notes

A searchable online version of The New Defender's Study Bible is the companion to the printed version, available at ICR's online store and at your local bookstore.

Events & Tours

Upcoming ICR events and tours are searchable. You can focus the result with the following options:

Type - You can restrict your results to display only conferences, presentations, seminars or tours.
Date Range - Enter MM/DD/YYYY (e.g. "1/31/2008") or you can click on the calendar icon to select a date. This can be left blank for an unrestricted beginning or ending date.
Region - In addition to various regions of the United States, International events can be selected.
Speaker - To restrict your search to a specific ICR speaker, enter either just their first or last name. Only exact matches are displayed.
Location - This restricts the events displayed to a local place, generally a building, such as a convention center or church. Note, because the location field is generally set to a building, entering in a city, state or region will not find any results.

Online Store

Products can also be searched by an advanced search tool within the online store. In the Search Tools section, the following options are available:

Category - These are the product subjects (e.g. Bible & Commentary).
Price Range - A lower and/or upper limit on the price can be set.

Radio Programs

ICR audio program for free downloading may be searched using these options:

Date Range - Enter MM/DD/YYYY (e.g. "1/31/2008") or you can click on the calendar icon to select a date. This can be left blank for an unrestricted beginning or ending date.
Format - Most ICR audio programs are available in MP3 format. Additional formats are available for some programs.

Topics

Selecting "Topics" for "Types of Pages" will search through the Evidence topic pages.

This will search the topic page and not the articles found under those topics.
To search for an article under a specific topic, see the "Articles" section above.
