Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Defender's Bible Notes
101:2 perfect way. Although this psalm was written by David, its claim of perfect actions and a perfect heart (Psalm 101:2) could not really apply to him, whether written as he assumed Israel’s throne or after his great sin and subsequent repentance. As a divinely inspired writer, it is difficult to think of him speaking of himself in such a manner. Thus it seems this is actually a Messianic psalm, with the perfectly righteous Son of Man speaking through David concerning His future ministry on earth.
