Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
4:5 eateth his own flesh. That is, a man so foolish that he refuses to work will eventually become so destitute that he would almost starve and thus, metaphorically, might want to eat his own arm. See Isaiah 9:20; 49:26.
