Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:
 

33:52 drive out. God here made it plain once again that He has firmly decided to give “the land of Canaan” to Israel. The Canaanites had lost all rights to the land by their gross wickedness, and the Israelites had been commissioned to “drive out all the inhabitants.” God had created the land, and had the right to give it to whomsoever He would.
