The disciples were even given the power to raise the dead; although no instances of this are recorded (until Peter’s much later raising of Tabitha, as noted in Acts 9:40), the testimony of Jesus heard by John the Baptist in prison (Matthew 11:5) may indicate that a number of such miracles did occur.
