As the Creator of all the beasts of the field, however, Christ would command perfect obedience from the young “foal of an ass,” in fulfillment of the ancient Messianic prophecy of Zechariah 9:9. Evidently, the owner of the animal somehow knew that his animal had been raised for just this ministry (Mark 11:3).
