And the fat of the beast that dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
 

7:24 in no wise eat. The disposal of dead animals in this situation would seem like a waste of potential food needed by the Israelite multitudes, but was nevertheless a hygienic measure understood by Moses (possibly by revelation), even though such practices were not followed by other nations.
