6:14 saying, Peace, peace. The false prophets of Judah were assuring the people that they were safe in their sins, only “slightly” rebuking them, just as do many modern religious leaders. There may be outward freedom from calamity for a time, but there can be no real peace among men until there is true peace between men and God.
