Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:
 

11:21 men of Anathoth. It is sad, though not surprising, that the men of Jeremiah’s home town (Jeremiah 1:1) should be the first to seek his life. Jesus had the same experience when He preached at Nazareth (Luke 4:16, 28-30).
