But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
 

11:16 glorious land. The “glorious land” is Israel (see also Daniel 11:41), which was repeatedly overrun and devastated by the Egyptian and Syrian armies in their ongoing wars.
