For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
 

1:18 foolishness. Those who regard Christianity as foolishness, rejecting and perhaps even ridiculing God’s Word, thereby prove to others that they are perishing in sin, on their way to hell.
